Acme's Mobile location serves the gulf coast counties of South Alabama along with the three additional counties north of the Port City. Its 3,200 square-foot showroom features over 100 samples of brick to choose for your home. In addition to brick choices for your home, we have tile, limestone, hardwood and cultured stone selections to help you complete your project. The exterior of the showroom features the use of many special shaped brick to detail the building. There is also a paver courtyard and sample wall of dozens of brick to view in natural light.

If it’s true that “one picture is worth a thousand words,” then a remarkable video must be worth considerably more. As wildfires race across the western United States, from California to the Midwest to Texas, and hurricanes wreak havoc in areas near the Gulf of Mexico, now is a good time to take a moment and watch this brief video below. In 1988, two physics professors began discussing the scientific components that might lead to better energy efficiency in building construction. Bo Adamson from Lund University in Sweden and Wolfgang Feist from the Institut für Wohnen und Umwelt in Germany had read the research, dating back to the 1970s, that suggested it was possible to construct a low-energy building that was designed to exploit passive solar technologies and establish a comfortable indoor temperature with a low-energy requirement for heating or cooling.
A funny thing happened on the way to the pandemic; people stayed home. Of course, the practical reason for this trend was to stay away from crowds, some of which were composed of people who were ill and didn’t even know it. However, many clouds of sad stories have silver linings!
