Fort Worth General Office

Acme maintains close working relationships with a number of outstanding artists who work with clay brick. (A list is available on request.) Here are the steps involved in creating and installing a brick sculpture.

  1. Architect and sculptor work together to plan the installation. The formal commission covers the details of designing the sculpture, executing it in brick, and supervising the installation.
  2. After approval, the sculptor and Acme arrange for the manufacture of the brick units.
  3. Acme technicians set the undried ("green") brick on a large "easel."
  4. Using special tools, the sculptor carves the design into the green brick--which Acme keeps moist and workable.
  5. Sculpted brick are then dried, glazed, hard-fired, and carefully numbered and packed for shipment.
  6. The sculptor typically supervises installation at the job site.
